I don’t understand the point of X anymore. The platform that used to be known as Twitter has changed and it’s become a hateful place. It’s not for me.

Mark Barry (FBCS) - I agree with you....... In its twitter era I use to it some times (but not under my real name) and it was a good place to talk celebs etc. Some times it could also be a nasty place full of trolls etc but it wasn't as bad as now.(No offense to Elon Musk if he's reading this), now its a lawless place and not the kinda place I really want to be in.Since Elon bought it (under his "freedom of speech" ) all the rules of safety and respect etc have gone.Yes in the west (UK, USA etc) "freedom of speech" (with in the law) exists but if that speech insites hatred etc, then its not "freedom of speech", I feel Elon can't see or understand that. Before Elon bought it, it was used by loads of celebs, news reporters, MPs and leaders of countries etc so it was very popular and growing.Due to this "Twitter" became part of normal language.I agree under Twitter's original owners it was losing money and needed a new leader to make it profitable but Elon should have stayed as a silent partner or be a problem fixer. Now for it to be a safe place he needs to restore Twitter's original managers and rule book else it will carry on being what it is now.Due to this (I feel) Twitter will lose lots of users.

Apart from LinkedIn X is my only social media platform. My profile is locked and I’ve a few followers and some great friends. It’s still an OK platform, just need to learn to scroll, ignore and block. The worst thing now about X are the bots. A large percentage of users are not real. Facebookis all Ads and I only use that for messenger. SocialMedia is slowly destroying our ability as humans to interact without hate and unkindness.

It has definitely changed for the worse but so has all social media. LinkedIn is also starting to have a lot more divisive political content. I never want to mute or block people as I think it’s good to hear a range of voices but I may have to before long. On the upside I now have a growing list of people I would never work for or with so that makes life simpler in a way.

I agree Mark. Even if you try to avoid all that only viewing what you follow, it seems to try and find you. Unfortunately, I’d say all social platforms these days have lost their way from what they were intended.

This brings back memories of days past. Some IT folks somewhere are very busy this morning trying to work out where the on/off switch is. Seriously, I assume that these types of problems will become more common as our reliance on big tech continues to increase. https://lnkd.in/e599iA7t

Wow - Seb James is leaving Boots. Perhaps not a surprise given improved performance over the past 5-6 years and WBA’s decision to pull the sale of the business. https://lnkd.in/eveedBUd

Exciting news emerging regarding Boots. I sincerely hope that any divesture from Walgreens will be positive for the Boots business and the amazing staff.https://lnkd.in/eR3XfSfh

Another stark article in the mainstream UK media about the financial pressures within the higher education sector. Many institutions find themselves in a dire situation, forced to make impossible decisions that go against long established principles. For one thing, reliance on the UK student fee income is no longer sensible as the value in real terms has eroded, imagine income (in real terms) eroding by a third over a 12 year period; no business can survive this without taking drastic corrective action.https://lnkd.in/eGF_QDHE
